EMPOWERING SCHOOLS, GROWING FUTURES: A COLLABORATIVE INITIATIVE IN LESOTHO

In a bold move to fortify nutrition and support sustainable practices, a pivotal Outreach Programme is taking place in Bela-Bela, Berea District, led by the Petroleum Fund in collaboration with WFP Lesotho. This initiative proudly honours His Majesty King Letsie III, the African Union Champion for Nutrition, and aims to empower the community through education and resources.

This impactful partnership has convened a remarkable gathering of 40 Primary Schools and 11 High Schools, alongside officials from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Agriculture. The focus of the programme is twofold: raising awareness about Smart Climate Gardening for Sustainable Nutrition and promoting the transition to LPG as a cleaner, safer energy solution. To foster this momentum and effect tangible change, the Petroleum Fund is providing invaluable support to participating schools, which includes:

– Agricultural equipment to facilitate effective gardening practices

– High-quality agricultural seeds to ensure fruitful harvests

– 11 gas-filled 48kg LPG cylinders to enhance energy efficiency and safety

Together, this initiative is cultivating healthier communities, advocating for clean energy solutions, and shaping brighter futures for our learners. The collaborative spirit evident in this project underscores the belief that working together leads to greater community resilience and prosperity. As we continue to build upon this foundation of shared values and goals, we invite everyone to join us in this journey towards sustainable development. Together, we can create a thriving environment for our children and ensure their well-being for generations to come.
