Safety and Fuel Price Compliance Road Show

The Petroleum Fund in collaboration with the Department of Energy hosted its maiden Road Show at Sefika Complex in Maseru on the 19th July 2019, and this was the first of the three planned Road Shows for the financial year 2019/2020.

The purpose of this Road Show was to carry out intensive public awareness programmes about Fund’s and issues around the use of petroleum products and the importance of price compliance with the set prices of those petroleum products.

The public education given at this Road Show focused mainly on:

  • The mandate of the Petroleum Fund;
  • Fuel pricing mechanics;
  • Health and safety on the forecourts and the efficient use of petroleum products.

This session was then followed by a Questions and Answers Session. The crowd was asked questions in order to assess their understanding of the presentations and the correct answer was awarded a prize gift.The Principal Energy Officer (Planning Unit) from the Department of Energy and the Petroleum Fund Operations Manager awarding the prize to one of the winners.

The second Road Show will cover the Northern region of the country and the venue will be communicated to the public in due cause.
